Hi! My name is Lauren, and I am a copywriter and emerging designer with a degree in computer science. I am looking to break into the field of content strategy with an entry-level position or internship in user experience or information architecture.
What discipline do you work in professionally?
I'm a copywriter with a bit of a background in Flash design and object-oriented programming. I am looking to change my path to be more user experience- and information architecture-oriented.
What is your expertise level in CS? Be as thorough as possible.
I have extensive experience as a copywriter through my own consulting business. But, I want to shift my focus to be more design oriented. My design skills are entry-level-caliber.

Absolutely! I am investing in my professional development with continuing education coursework and looking for either an entry-level or internship position in user experience or information architecture.
What do you hope to gain from this group? What do you hope to contribute?
I hope to learn from experts in the field about best practices in user experience and information architecture and also hope to get some great feedback on how to best break into this career field. On the flip side, I can contribute expertise on running your own consulting business and as well as much enthusiasm to learn more about interaction design.

I live in the Bishop Arts District which is right south of downtown Dallas.
